All of the nations have started the ODI World Cup, which India will host later this year. As the teams have been playing so well lately, picking the winners is undoubtedly challenging right now. Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani bowler, thinks that Pakistan and India can make it to the summit match of the international event.
MS Dhoni led the Indian team to its second ODI World Cup victory in 2011 at home after the nation won the tournament in 1983 under the legendary Kapil Dev’s captaincy. While Imran Khan was in charge, Pakistan only won the championship once, in 1992. India’s triumph in 2011 is still memorable since the Men in Blue secured the final berth by overcoming Pakistan in the semifinals before defeating Sri Lanka in the championship game.
“Whether they play in Mumbai or Ahmedabad, I want an India vs. Pakistan championship game. “Want to exact revenge for the 2011 semifinal defeat,” Shoaib Shoaib Akhtar said to Sports Tak.
Shoaib Akhtar requests approval from the Indian authorities for the team’s trip to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
Shoaib Akhtar was also questioned over the Asia Cup controversy, in which the PCB and BCCI are at war. While BCCI is reluctant to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, PCB is determined about holding the full tournament at home. Shoaib Akhtar believes the topic does not require as much attention because only the two countries’ governments have the authority to decide what will happen.
These are crude remarks. Neither the BCCI nor the PCB can take any action in this regard. Without seeking permission from the Indian government, BCCI is powerless. Also, our board is powerless to act without consulting our government. Everyone has his opinion regarding the tie between India and Pakistan.
Please refrain from making useless comments, I’m asking all the previous players from both teams. Who is BCCI to decide whether they will fly to Pakistan if the Narendra Modi-led government gives the go-ahead? Akhtar continued.
