In an interesting turn of events, star cricketers Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been named in Delhi’s probable squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. This announcement has surely got the cricket fraternity excited as they could see the two premier cricketers in action in BCCI’s most prestigious red-ball tournament.
After the current Test series against Bangladesh is over, the Men in Blue will play Test series against Australia and New Zealand, making for a busy few months ahead of them. Due to their importance to India’s Test team, Kohli and Pant might not play in the Ranji Trophy. Nonetheless, it would be extremely beneficial for the competition and its supporters if the two legendary cricket players could manage to find some time in between their hectic schedules.
The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) released a list of the 84 probables, which includes Navdeep Saini, Pant, and Kohli. Saini just finished an outstanding Duleep Trophy campaign. Ishant Sharma, a seasoned speedster who played for Delhi the previous year, was noticeably left off the roster.

It seems unlikely that Kohli and Pant will play in the Ranji Trophy opener as a result.
