‘Mayank Yadav has been the highlight for me’- Parthiv Patel reflects Mayank Yadav’s great debut

After defeating Bangladesh in a recent two-game Test series, Team India made a fantastic start to the Twenty20 International series. The Men in Blue have also been successful in the shorter format. Suryakumar Yadav led India in the opening Twenty20 International match against Bangladesh, and the team included a number of new players.

Prominent pacer Mayank Yadav was among the most notable. The 22-year-old gained notoriety for his explosive pace while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League in 2024. Mayank Yadav bowled a single over and gave up 21 runs in four overs while taking one wicket.

Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel was among the numerous admirers of his debut, taking center stage and demonstrating just how masterfully Mayank Yadav handled pressure.

For me, Mayank Yadav stands out. It’s not simple, in my opinion, to play with such much anticipation and a high reputation after making one’s debut. “Mayank Yadav has been the highlight for me today, to be honest, just to show no nerves, when you’re expecting 150-plus, if you want to bowl at 150 kmph that is a hard task,” Parthiv stated on Sports18.

Bangladesh is defeated by India by seven wickets.

In reference to the inaugural Twenty20 International between India and Bangladesh, Bangladesh batted first to start the match. Parvez Hossain Emon and Litton Das scored eight and four runs, respectively, to start the team. Bangladesh scored 127 runs in the first innings, with Najmul Hossain Shanto contributing 27 more runs and Mehidy Hasan Miraz remaining undefeated at 35.

With a combined total of three wickets, Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy led India in wicket-taking. Washington Sundar, Mayank Yadav, and Hardik Pandya also claimed a wicket apiece.

Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma opened the Indian innings with 29 and 16 runs, respectively, as they looked to chase down the goal.

India won by seven wickets, with Suryakumar Yadav scoring 29 runs and Nitish Kumar Reddy and Hardik Pandya remaining undefeated at 16 and 39, respectively.
