Pant has been a vital member of DC since making his IPL debut in 2016. With a stunning average of 148.93, he amassed 3284 runs in 111 matches, including one century and eighteen half-centuries. Pant was the most expensive player in Delhi’s previous season, having cost INR 16 crore. He performed as expected, amassing 446 runs at a strike rate of 155.40 in 13 matches.
In the IPL 2024, Rishabh Pant made a remarkable return following his 2022 accident.
Following a near-fatal vehicle accident in December 2022, he returned to the game after a 14-month hiatus. After making a comeback to the IPL in 2024, he went on to play a major part in India’s success in the T20 World Cup. In his Test return against Bangladesh in Chennai, he recently achieved a century (109).
The southpaw’s future with the Capitals is still up in the air, despite his outstanding performances and lengthy affiliation with the team. Significant changes have been made to the team, including the departure of head coach Ricky Ponting following a seven-year tenure. Though DC has previously denied reports of Pant’s release, his most recent tweet prioritizes conversations over his retention over the major auction.
