At a strike rate of 77.99, he achieved his double century and formed an undefeated 211-run partnership with Sundar. In the Ranji Trophy, he became the fourth batter from Tamil Nadu to score a double-ton since 2015. Jagadeesan, Kaushik Gandhi, and Abhinav Mukund are the other three. Himmat Singh, the captain of Delhi, invited Tamil Nadu to bat first because there was a trace of grass on the field. The Tamil Nadu openers withstood the testing phase and amassed runs despite early ball movement by Himanshu Chauhan and Saini. Additionally, while Sudharsan was on 143, he was given lives twice, and on 77, a no-ball saved his day.
