The new Indian women’s jersey was unveiled by Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India, and Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the highest cricketing authority in India. Interestingly, the Women in Blue will now wear the new jersey in every white-ball match.
The Indian women’s team will now play Australia in the ODI series. The opening ODI at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field on December 5 will kick off the three ODIs and as many T20Is. Harmanpreet appeared thrilled with the new equipment following the jersey reveal event at the BCCI offices in Mumbai. She was particularly drawn to the tricolor on the shirt’s shoulders.
“Today’s jersey unveiling is an honor. Being the first to don the shirt against the West Indies makes us feel incredibly proud. I’m overjoyed. I like how it looks. It looks stunning with the tri-color on the shoulders. In a video released by the BCCI, Harmanpreet Kaur expressed his happiness at receiving a unique ODI jersey.
The BCCI captioned the image on “X” with the words, “Mr. Jay Shah, Honorary Secretary, BCCI & Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur, Captain, Indian Cricket Team unveiled #TeamIndia’s new ODI jersey.”
