‘Not my views’ – Anil Kumble urges caution after fake quotes attributed to him

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s declining form in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy has sparked much discussion among the cricket community. A number of former cricketers and experts have chimed in on the situation, as the two stalwarts have underperformed in the showpiece series’ three Tests thus far.

Amidst this, a recent social media article alleged that former India captain Anil Kumble critiqued the senior duo’s performance in the third Test in Brisbane.

Anil Kumble has, however, refuted the allegations, claiming that the remarks ascribed to him are untrue and contrived. He also advocated for prudence and vigilance in the face of misinformation.

“It has come to my knowledge that some social media profiles are exploiting my image and claiming bogus quotes about me. I unequivocally disclaim any affiliation with these accounts or their content. The words being distributed do not represent my thoughts or ideas in any way. I advise everyone to remain watchful and not believe everything they see on social media.
