A week before the Boxing Day Test in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, famous Indian batsman Virat Kohli was seen arguing angrily with the media at the Melbourne Airport. Kohli and his spouse, Anushka Sharma, have chosen not to expose their kids to the press. But that’s what happened after Kohli and his family touched down at the airport.
A journalist attempted to take images of Kohli without his permission, and they had a heated argument. As reported by 7NEWS, Kohli was heard stating, “You can’t film without asking me; I need some privacy with my kids.”
A Channel 7 reporter revealed, “Kohli got a little agitated when he saw the waiting cameras because he thought the media was filming him with his kids, which is essentially a misunderstanding.”
Following the short exchange of words, Virat Kohli left.
A few seconds later, though, he was cut off when the correspondents made it clear that they were not filming their kids. Before departing, Kohli reportedly shook hands with the cameraman.
In terms of cricket, Kohli hasn’t had the best series thus far. Kohli was expected to bounce back from a slump in his Test form, so there was a lot of excitement leading up to the series. His performances, however, have been generally lacklustre, with the exception of the undefeated 100 in India’s second innings in Perth. Naturally, Kohli’s performance with the bat will be crucial to India’s success in the rest of the series.
For India, the current series in Australia is crucial to the 2023–25 World Test Championship cycle. The series is tied at 1-1 following the deadlock at the Gabba. India needs to win the next two games in order to get to their third WTC final without relying on other outcomes. India would have to rely on other outcomes to go their way if they were to win one of the final two games.
