The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 is fully underway, and thus far, the series has been quite the roller coaster. Australia won the first Test in Adelaide, while the Indian team won the first Test in Perth. In addition, a draw was made for the series’ third Test in Brisbane.
Sam Konstas, Australia’s newest Test recruit, is preparing to take on India’s star bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming fourth Test. Since he was chosen for Australia’s fourth Test at the MCG, he would play Bumrah.
Regarding his possible involvement in the MCG Test, Konstas appeared to be full of confidence but also acknowledged that he would not put himself to the trouble of seeing Jasprit Bumrah’s video before the match.
“I’m going to limit my Bumrah viewing. I’ve already seen him quite a bit. But I can’t wait to confront him and push myself. Our analysts often provide some commentary on every bowler. “Maybe I’ll read that,” Konstas said.
Notably, before the series began, Sam Konstas and young Nathan McSweeney were in the running instead.
Konstas might, however, be chosen for the fourth Test of the series after putting up poor performances in the previous three.
“I am quite self-assured. I’ve put in all the effort, so I’m just supporting my abilities. Trying to keep things basic, I suppose, and just another game. When you were a child, you always dreamed of getting your baggy green, which is really uncommon. “It would be an immense honour if I were accepted,” Konstas stated.
“The opportunity was somewhat unexpected, but I feel very fortunate to have had it. I just had a laid-back meal with the family [to celebrate]. It was sentimental; Mum was in tears. “Everything has happened so quickly,” he continued.
Both teams are trying to get an advantage in the series, and the fourth Test of the ongoing BGT 2024-25 will begin at the MCG on December 26.
