During India’s practice session in Melbourne before the Boxing Day Test at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) nets, fans gathered in large numbers, which left star cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma unhappy.
Recent reports on the matter indicate that both top cricket players were annoyed by the supporters’ unrelenting requests. According to reports from RevSportz, the senior batters’ focus was hampered while they were practicing in the nets because they were not satisfied with the disgusting way the fans were requesting specific shots be performed.
During and after their practice, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were observed to be upset and both showed their dismay.
It was said that both batters appeared really solid in the nets. They were observed working hard for extended periods of time in order to improve their individual performances for the sake of the team, according to the same study. In addition, other players were observed exerting themselves in front of what appears to be a series decider.
This follows the Indian team’s decision to bar fans from the stadium following the first Test in Perth. Previous reports indicate that a small number of individuals taunted and insulted specific Indian team players, which infuriated Rohit and the team’s management.
It is expected that Virat and Rohit would need to perform better if India is to have any chance of winning the current series. In the first Test, Kohli scored a century in the second innings, but his other batting performances have been lacklustre. Because of his family responsibilities, Rohit was unable to participate in the first game. After returning, he had to adjust to the middle order, but he hasn’t been able to settle in yet.
At 1-1, the series is precariously balanced. For India, the MCG has not been a very pleasant hunting field. Out of the 14 games they have played here, they have lost eight. Their success in the 2020–21 season, when they won by eight wickets to record a remarkable comeback in that series, will give them confidence, though.
