In the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25, star batsman Rishabh Pant has been making headlines with his poor performance, drawing criticism from various quarters. However, on day two of the fifth Test in the current series, Pant demonstrated his daring batting, which is what he is known for.
The visitors stepped out to bat in the second innings after India had amassed 185 runs in the first and held Australia to a score of 181, but as has been the case throughout the series, the Indian top order was unable to make a significant impact. With a score of six runs in 12 deliveries, star batsman Virat Kohli was dismissed cheaply.
Shortly after Kohli’s wicket, Pant walked out to bat and made his intentions immediately apparent. Pant took a risk and rushed down the pitch against Scott Boland, sending the ball over deep midwicket for a spectacular six. All over social media, the same video has been going viral.

Rishabh Pant leaves for 61, allowing India to have a chance.
Speaking of the current match between India and Australia, I’m going to bat in the second innings. KL Rahul scored 13 runs, while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 22. With Kohli scoring six runs, Shubman Gill also contributed thirteen runs to the total.
But when the top order failed, Rishabh Pant took the field and scored 61 runs in 33 deliveries. India was able to reach a manageable total because to Pant’s knock. In order for India to put a significant total on the board that Australia will have to chase in the second innings, Pant’s knock might be essential.
