India’s Champions Trophy 2025 team has not yet been revealed, and there is still much discussion on which players should be included in the final 15. Rohit Sharma is reportedly going to be the team’s leader. In that case, he would be heading India in an ICC event for the fifth time.
In light of the previous results, experts are advising on who should be included in the team prior to the announcement. Former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Irfan Pathan also expressed their opinions and selected players they believed would be a good fit for the Indian squad. Although there is a chance that either Rishabh Pant or KL Rahul would be included in the squad, both former cricket players have chosen the wicketkeeper-batters.
“I’ll mention who has performed exceptionally well recently if I were seated there. KL Rahul had an incredible World Cup in 50 overs. Given his ODI World Cup performance, I believe Shreyas Iyer needs some support. He hasn’t had such support in the past many months. “These two guys have my full support to win the Champions Trophy,” Pathan told Star Sports.
When Gavaskar was talking about the team, he decided to bring up Sanju Samson because of his recent series performances, particularly his hundreds in South Africa.
“Shreyas Iyer will be my number four. Rishabh Pant will be at number six, and KL Rahul will be at number five. Since Sanju Samson has scored hundreds for India, he must be included in the national team. “How can you overlook someone who is scoring hundreds for his nation?” the former legend asked.
Irfan Pathan and Gavaskar’s predicted Champions Trophy India squad –
