Australia Women and England Women will play a four-day Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after their respective three-match ODI and T20I series. January 30 is when the day-night game is supposed to start.
It seems that Australian batsman-wicketkeeper Beth Mooney was very eager to play in the Test. “Both the team and I would have preferred it if the Test had been scheduled in the first half of the series,” she said.
The outcome will be fantastic. It’s clear that we don’t get to wear the Baggy Green very often. Some difficulties will arise because of the slightly different behavior of the pink ball. The game’s spectacle is what I’m most excited about, to be honest. Being up 12-0 makes us very happy. Even if it was not to be, it would have been good if we had played the Test match earlier in the series, when the series was still in the balance. It’s come at a wonderful time for us to really just show off our skills and truly enjoy playing the four-day game, both individually and collectively,” Mooney said.
Beth Mooney confirms her position as a batswoman for the next Test.
Alyssa Healy’s foot ailment also forced the left-handed batter to explain her ad hoc position of wicketkeeping and middle-order service in order to make room for the pure batter.
“Whether it’s the batting order, behind the wickets, or on the field, I appreciate that I can provide the selection panel and coaching staff a variety of alternatives. The ace batter said, “I’m looking forward to what that will bring, and hopefully I’m just warming up Midge’s (Alyssa Healy) spot for a little while. It will be a nice challenge for me to bat in that middle-order role and keep wickets.”
Finishing off the Women’s Ashes 2025 will be the renowned multi-day match. In order to win the seventh and final game, the hosts, who have won every game thus far, should deliver a similar performance.
