Unbeaten India and South Africa ready to face off in ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 final

South Africa will attempt to unseat defending champions India in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 Final at Bayuemas Oval against the final two undefeated teams. Both teams showed promise in their semi-final matches; South Africa defeated Australia by five wickets after chasing down a target of 106, while India defeated England by nine wickets.

Both teams are in excellent form going into the final, with important players deciding the winner. They have won every game they have played thus far.

Here are some of the main head-to-heads

Batters: Gongadi Trisha v Jemma Botha

Gongadi Trisha is the player with the most runs in the competition (265), about 100 more than her nearest opponent.

Trisha, who has averaged 66.25 throughout her six innings with the tournament’s lone hundred, has consistently given India the ideal start, along with G Kamalini, who is third in runs with 135 runs.

Additionally, she has scored the most runs of any player to reach 100 runs overall, with a strike rate of 149.71.

South Africa demonstrated in their semi-final that they have a potent hitter of their own when Jemma Botha struck 37 off of just 24 balls, putting them on track for an easy chase.

Despite the fact that weather and chasing small targets have prevented her from scoring as many runs as Trisha, she has been the best hitter in South Africa. Nevertheless, she is the seventh most prolific batter in the competition with 89 runs at an average of slightly less than 30.

Captaincy: Niki Prasad v Kayla Reyneke

Due of India’s outstanding top order batting, which limits her opportunities in the middle, Niki Prasad has mostly been needed as a leader thus far in this tournament. After scoring 11 runs in a 31-run partnership with Trisha against Sri Lanka, she finished the victory over Bangladesh by scoring five runs off of two balls.

Her primary responsibility, however, has been leading her squad, which she accomplished brilliantly against England after Davina Perrin had attacked the Indian seamers. To keep the target within reach, Prasad kept calm and expertly rotated her slow bowlers.

In contrast, Kayla Reyneke has been seen in action far more in South Africa. She has been their most effective bowler, taking 10 wickets at a 7.6 strike rate, including three for two against Ireland. In the last two games, Reyneke has also contributed with the bat. She scored an undefeated 16 in the victory over Ireland, and her 26 calmed any concerns during the chase for the semi-final.

Bowlers: Vaishnavi Sharma v Ashleigh van Wyk

Both teams will understand that they must restrict the impact of the spinners if they are to win, but it is difficult to predict which bowlers will be crucial on the day.

In the semi-final, Aayushi Shukla and Parunika Sisodia both showed promise as left-arm slow bowlers for India.

But no one has ever taken as many wickets as Vaishnavi Sharma, who has an incredible 7.2 strike rate and an economy rate of less than three.

England put considerable pressure on her, but she bounced back with three wickets in four balls, which significantly reduced the pace of scoring.

South Africa will be hoping Ashleigh van Wyk can continue her form from the semi-final into the final, as the previously mentioned Reyneke is taking wickets at regular intervals.

She went on to finish the Australian innings with four for 17, having gone undefeated in the tournament before the semi-final.

Match Officials named for the grand finale

At the same time, the ICC has announced the match officials for the Women’s U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 final between France and South Africa.

At the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Ashlee Gibbons of Australia and Nitin Bathi of the Netherlands will square off. India defeated England in the semi-finals with Gibbons officiating on the pitch, and South Africa defeated Australia in the final four with Bathi officiating.

The match referee will be David Gilbert, while the third umpire will be Aidan Seaver of Ireland providing support.
