On February 1, the third day of the Ranji Trophy 2024–25 match between Delhi and Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) presented Virat Kohli with a felicitation.
It was strange because Kohli didn’t do anything out of the norm to earn the congratulations. Since his last game for Delhi was in 2012, many assumed it was to mark his return to the Ranji Trophy after a 13-year absence.

Why did the DDCA felicitate Virat Kohli?
It was later disclosed, though, that the DDCA and its president, Rohan Jaitley, intended to commemorate Kohli’s 100 Tests, which had taken place back in 2022. In 2023, he even participated in a Test match in Delhi.
But it appears that the DDCA waited for the ideal time to give the trophy to the Indian modern-day great after he represented Delhi in the Ranji Trophy.
President Rohan Jaitely of the DDCA awarded a shawl and memento to commemorate the accomplishment. Rajkumar Sharma, who coached Kohli as a child, was also in attendance.
