The Indian squad, captained by Rohit Sharma, left Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for Dubai on February 15. Several important players, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and others, were seen at the airport as the departure was marked with excitement and delight.
India’s recent cricket victories over England have demonstrated the power of hard work in the game. With their formidable form and intensity, they are ready for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. Interestingly, the Men in Blue’s aggressive and vivacious style allowed them to win both the T20I and ODI series thanks to their outstanding performance throughout.
In an attempt to keep team unity and focus throughout the competition, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has devised a new strategy for this three-week tournament, warning that players’ families would not accompany them.

In the T20-I series, India dominated, winning 4-1. While completely controlling the game, the stormy and violent innings also highlighted India’s depth at bat. Seeing Varun Chakravarthy’s outstanding ball-handling performance throughout the series, which led to him taking 14 wickets and winning Player of the Series.
India entered the ODI format with ease and swept the series 3-0 to further solidify their supremacy. While Sharma made a brilliant recovery in the second ODI in Cuttack, scoring an exquisite 119, spectators in Ahmedabad witnessed Shubman Gill dominate the innings with a magnificent 112.
This was supported by half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, which resulted in an incredible total of 356.
To secure a 142-run victory, the bowlers held up to the batter’s efforts, dismissing England for 214. Gill was a worthy recipient of Player of the tournament for his steady knocks throughout the tournament.
As they prepare for the Champions Trophy, India’s confidence has surely been strengthened and increased by recent series victories. When India plays Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 20, the match is scheduled to start. With their recent successes and a strong enough team, India is ready to leave their imprint at the Champions Trophy, bringing the momentum of their triumph into the competition.
