Salman Ali Agha was a bright spot for Pakistan despite their defeat to New Zealand in the Tri-series final. After scoring 219 runs in three games, the all-rounder won Player of the Series. Under tremendous pressure to satisfy fan requests and win the trophy, Pakistan will hosting the Champions Trophy 2025, the first ICC (International Cricket Council) event since 1996.
Salman Butt, the former captain of Pakistan, recently had a conversation with Agha.
The intriguing match between India and Pakistan on February 23 will cause everyone to pause and pay attention.
Since winning the title is the team’s primary objective, Agha said that the outcome of the match would not significantly affect the high stakes and his relative inexperience as a player in the long-standing cricket rivalry. Additionally, he shared his expertise as the team’s vice captain.
It is the ultimate ambition to win the Champions Trophy. We obviously want to defeat India, but if we lose to them and still win the championship, that’s a greater accomplishment,” Agha stated on the PCB Radio.
“I’m having so much fun in this job. Although it’s a novel challenge, I’m attempting to balance it with my skill set,” he continued.
