Before the Deepti Sharma-led team takes the pitch against the Gujrat Giants on February 16, the UP Warriorz are rehearsing for the 2025 WPL. On February 19, the UP Warriorz play the Delhi Capitals in the season’s second game. Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara is the venue for both games.
Leading the UP Warriorz for the first time, Deepti Sharma is excited about the challenge.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity,” she remarked. It was a wonderful sensation to learn about the captaincy. I have a strong hunch that UP Warriorz will have a successful season.
The star all-around player talked extensively about the task at hand and that she is excited for the season. Deepti, who has taken the most wickets in women’s T20Is for India, stated, “I’ve already gained experience as captain of my state team.” “It’s a little different from being part of the team as a senior player,” she continued. Even though it could be a little difficult, I enjoy taking on tasks of any difficulty. I am therefore looking forward to the season.
Deepti quickly replied that the squad is excited to play in Lucknow, a place they have never played in before, when asked how she feels about playing in UP. The UP Warriorz’s home venue of Lucknow will host the WPL competition for the first time during Season 3. The UP Warriorz will play the Gujarat Giants on March 3, the Mumbai Indians on March 6, and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 8 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
“For the UP Warriorz, playing in Lucknow at the Ekana Stadium is a really exciting prospect, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to perform in front of our home crowd. We are looking forward to witnessing the support of the Uttar Pradesh cricket fans, who have always cheered us on from their homes over the first two seasons, when we play at the stadium in Lucknow this time. As a team, we are eager for our three forthcoming games there,” stated Deepti, the WPL 2024 MVP winner.
