Champions Trophy 2025: A lower back ailment prevents Fakhar Zaman from competing

Imam-ul-Haq was designated as a substitute.

Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman’s previous opening partner, has been brought in as a replacement by the squad and management after Zaman’s injury. This replacement has also been authorized by the ICC’s Event Technical Committee, and in two years, ODI cricket will return.

Regarding Imam’s performances in the format, he has participated in 72 One-Day Internationals and amassed 3138 runs at an average of 48.27. He has nine hundreds and twenty half-centuries in the format. For the 29-year-old, this will be a fantastic chance to return.
