Dan Christian, a former all-rounder for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), believes that Australia and India could face off in the Champions Trophy 2025 finals. In the 2023 ODI World Cup final in Ahmedabad, these two sides faced off, with Australia winning.
Christian praised Australia’s Champions Trophy performance against England, as the Steve Smith-led team successfully chased down a formidable 352-run mark in Lahore. The 41-year-old also spoke on the loss of veterans Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins.
“Australia performed well in the CT match against England. “ICC tournaments bring out the best in the Australian team, even though they weren’t at their best in Sri Lanka,” Christian stated via Mid-Day.
“The other night, they appeared to be in excellent condition. Despite England surpassing 350, the Australian bowlers were quite strong, especially without three of the world’s top bowlers: Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins. There is every possibility of an India-Australia final if they continue to play that way,” he continued.
Dan Christianis participating in the first International Masters League right now. He is competing in the T20 tournament on behalf of Australia Masters.
The Camperdown native also discussed the difficulties of bowling to contemporary hitters who may target various parts of the field and can make tremendous strokes from ball one. Following two breaches of the greatest tournament total during the high-scoring match between bitter rivals Australia and England, he made these comments.
“The game has undoubtedly evolved. In an attempt to dismiss the bowlers from ball one, the young players are taking a lot more strokes early in the innings on both sides of the wicket. It makes bowling difficult. “The bowlers must always hit the exact spot,” Christian stated.
India has previously defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh to go to the semi-finals. Australia, meanwhile, will play Afghanistan on Friday, February 28. They have three points from their first two games.
