According to a report, the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 would be tentatively scheduled in September by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Notably, in consideration of the Men’s T20 World Cup, which is set for early 2026, the competition will be contested in a 20-over format.
The most recent Asia Cup will include eight teams, with Hong Kong and Oman securing berths in the continental competition.
However, Nepal did not qualify, hence the team will not be participating.
The report’s most significant update concerned the host country, which was neither India nor Pakistan. Furthermore, none of the events will be held in any country until 2031. According to a research, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sri Lanka are the two most likely nations to host the tournament in 2025.
“The ACC recently made the important decision that the event be staged in a neutral nation when the BCCI or PCB take turns hosting it. In its article published on Thursday, February 27, said unequivocally in a document that is in possession of this website.
Similar to the 2029 edition, there will be 19 matches in total in 2025. In contrast, the 2027 and 2031 editions will each include 13 games and be played in the ODI format. It is important to remember that, despite the fact that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has the right to host the event in 2029, the games will take place in a neutral nation.
Although they are the reigning champions, India is not entitled to host any of the current cycle’s tournaments. The previous edition’s co-hosts, Sri Lanka, will host in 2031, while Bangladesh has been assigned to host in 2027.
