Jasprit Bumrah, a talented Indian pace bowler, recently shared a video of himself returning to bowling on Instagram with the remark, “Progress every day 📈”. He was seen practicing spot-bowling during a net session on a cricket ground in the video, which was uploaded on February 27.
The little footage was a positive sign for the Indian cricket community even though Bumrah did not attempt to run in with the same vigor as usual. Notably, he had suffered a back ailment during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25 Syndey Test. In addition to keeping him out of the series’ last innings, the injury also kept him from joining India’s 15-man team for the current Champions Trophy.

Jasprit Bumrah ended up taking the most wickets on the most recent tour to Australia.
At an average of 13.06 throughout the 151.2 overs he put down, he finished with a staggering total of 32 wickets in nine innings. There were numerous rumors circulating that one of the main causes of Bumrah’s injury was the excessive amount of work that was placed on his shoulders.
Regarding India’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, they have already advanced to the ODI tournament’s knockout stages. The previous season’s finalists defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh by six wickets and six wickets, respectively, in their opening two tournament matches.
On Sunday, March 2, they play New Zealand in their last group-stage match. If India advances that far, Indian cricket fans speculate that the pacer might return for the championship game. The Indian Cricket Board of Control and the team management, however, don’t seem to want to rush him back into action.
