The Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand is under underway. These two sides are now fighting for the top spot in this ongoing match and have been the most dominant in Group A thus far. During the game, there have already been some tantalizing moments, such as Glenn Phillips’ incredible one-handed grab at Point.
Virat Kohli, who appeared to have timed the cut shot flawlessly, was also eliminated by the catch, which astounded every spectator at the Dubai International Stadium. But in his 300th ODI for India, Kohli’s brief stint at the crease was cut short when Phillips dove to pick the ball out of thin air.
The renowned all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja of India was among the players in the Indian dugout who were appreciating Phillips’ diving effort.
Jadeja was mimicking the catch that Phillips had made in the dressing room. This demonstrates the degree of gratitude that a world-class fielder has for another.
The 36-year-old all-rounder was mimicking the catch in front of Virat Kohli, who was seated directly next to him, which adds a little humor to the scenes. But the batter appeared to be so engrossed in the game that he failed to spot his partner mimicking the catch, which put a stop to his innings. A cheeky moment off the field that caught everyone’s attention was undoubtedly produced by Jadeja’s antics from the dugout.

Having said that, the Indian squad was held to 249 in the first innings by the bowlers from New Zealand. Even with the efforts of Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Shreyas Iyer, the New Zealand bowlers and fielders won the day. The best bowler was Matt Henry, who finished with figures of 5-42 in his eight overs. He is now one of the tournament’s top wicket-takers and is doing a good job of spearheading the Kiwi pace attack.
