As a first in cricket history, the well-known Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) registered three stars from the Gemini constellation. Notably, KKR has given them the names “Korbo, Lorbo, and Jeetbo,” respectively, which are their battle cry or slogan.
Notably, the stars were chosen to commemorate their three historic championship campaigns in 2012, 2014, and 2024. Similarly, Kolkata announced the historic decision to their supporters on their official account. It’s interesting to note that all of their title victories occurred during the same Gemini zodiac period.
“The three-time champions have just secured a spot in the (K)night sky for all time! How? On their official ‘X’ handle, KKR posted, “We have just registered three actual stars around the Gemini constellation, which are now officially named after our title wins in 2012 (Korbo), 2014 (Lorbo), and 2024 (Jeetbo).”
By the time we won each of the three titles—27/05/2012, 1/6/2014, and 26/05/2024—the stars were registered. Since all three dates occur inside the Gemini Zodiac, all three stars were selected from the Gemini constellation. “You can use the coordinates or scan the QR code to view the stars on a clear night,” they added.

The IPL 2025 season will start on March 22 and KKR has not yet announced its captain.
Speaking of the Kolkata Knight Riders, they have not yet named a new captain for the 2025 Indian Premier League season. For those who don’t know, Shreyas Iyer was their previous boss until the franchise hired him at high-profile auctions. Iyer was consequently acquired by the Punjab Kings, who also selected him as their new captain. According to reports, Rinku Singh and Ajinkya Rahane are now the favorites to captain the team in the upcoming season.
The giant cricket carnival’s schedule for the upcoming IPL season was just revealed. On March 22, the T20 cricket spectacular will begin with a match between KKR and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The famous Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the match. In addition, according to the schedule, the legendary location will host the IPL season’s Qualifier 2 and Grand Final this year.
