The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final match officials have been revealed. On March 4, India will play Australia at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai, while on March 5, South Africa will play New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The first semi-final between India and Australia will be officiated by Richard Illingworth of England and Chris Gaffaney of New Zealand. Andy Pycroft will referee the match, while Michael Gough will act as the third umpire.
Gaffaney was supposed to officiate Australia’s match against South Africa in Group B before the weather interrupted, but Illingworth is still in Dubai after supervising India’s match against New Zealand in Group A.
Then, Australia’s Paul Reiffel and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Dharmasena will serve as the on-field umpires for the match between the Proteas and the Black Caps in the second semi-final in Lahore.
Ranjan Madugalle is the match referee for this match, and Joel Wilson will serve as the third umpire.
In Group A, Reiffel was in the middle when India defeated Pakistan, while Dharmasena led New Zealand to victory over Bangladesh.
Depending on India’s qualification, the victors of the two matches will face off in the tournament’s summit battle on March 9 in either Dubai or Lahore. The match is scheduled to take place in Dubai if India advances to the finals. This is consistent with the Champions Trophy hybrid structure that was chosen when India declined to visit Pakistan due to the tense diplomatic ties between the two nations.
