At the Dubai International Stadium, India and Australia are playing in the first semi-final. Due to the two teams’ past performance in ICC knockout competitions, this has been one of the most anticipated games of the tournament.
Throughout the first innings against Australia, the Men in Blue put on an outstanding fielding performance.
Shreyas Iyer’s brilliant runout of Alex Carey, the opponent’s middle-order wicketkeeper, in the 48th over was one of them.
With his outstanding innings of 61 off 57 deliveries, Alex Carey was giving the Indian bowlers trouble until Iyer’s throw caught him off guard. Positioned at a deep backward square leg, Iyer sprinted in to pick up the ball and delivered it onto the stumps with accuracy. Given that Carey may have led Australia to a high final score, this was a much-needed wicket for the Indian team.

As for the game, the Indian bowlers eventually bowled Australia out for 264. Among the bowlers, Mohammed Shami was the best, taking 3/48 in his allotted ten overs. Going into the second innings, the two teams will be playing a fierce match thanks to the Australians’ competitive total.
Steve Smith, the captain, and Carey both made several excellent knocks that sustained the run flow until they were removed. Before being removed by Shami’s low full toss in the 37th over of the innings, Steve Smith’s 73 off 96 deliveries was a difficult point for the Indian squad.
