The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand will be officiated by Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth, both of whom are members of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Umpires. The match will take place in Dubai on Sunday, March 9.
Both played in the semi-finals, with Reiffel presiding over the Black Caps’ 50-run triumph over South Africa the next day and Illingworth in the middle for India’s four-wicket victory against Australia.
Illingworth, a four-time ICC Umpire of the Year, officiated the Group A match between the two finalists, which India won by 44 runs, and stood in the final of the most recent ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023 as well as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
Third umpire Joel Wilson and fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena will accompany the duo.
In the second semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand, both Emirates ICC Elite Panel umpires served as part of the officiating crew.
Wilson served as the third umpire, while Dharmasena was on the pitch with Paul Reiffel.
The Trinidadian, who performed similarly in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final, will return to that role for the centrepiece.
The match will be supervised by the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees’ most seasoned member, Ranjan Madugalle.
