However, Mohammed Shami recognized during the post-match festivities with a little but impactful gesture.
Players quickly popped bottles of champagne in celebration as the Indian team climbed the stage to celebrate their victory. Nevertheless, Shami discreetly moved aside, abstaining from the champagne shower in accordance with his religious convictions. He was praised and applauded for his beautiful act as he joined his teammates after the celebration was over.

Virat Kohli’s post-match greeting of Shami’s mother added to the poignant moments. Before snapping selfies with her, Kohli made a touching sign of respect by touching her feet.
With this victory, India demonstrated their supremacy on the global scene and not only broke their New Zealand curse but also silenced critics.
