In the current season of the Women’s Premier League, Harleen Deol is playing for the Gujarat Giants Women. This season has been a mixed bag for her. But in the end, Gujarat’s strong second half of the season helped them qualify for the playoffs.
The middle-order batter from India offered her thoughts on how to properly handle the high-pressure situation in the lead-up to the forthcoming eliminator match against the Mumbai Indians Women.
“It’s all about managing the pressure well when you play huge games. The winner is the one who does that. They only have a day off after playing two straight games. They just suffered a defeat. Thus, they also have a hurdle,” Harleen said, according to The Hindu.
Additionally, she commended Deandra Dottin, a West Indian all-rounder, for supporting the team when needed.
“New members have been added to the team to cover the voids. (Deandra) Dottin has entered. No one is able to match her four overs, fielding and hitting, and the impact she makes when batting. Finding the perfect combinations is all that is required in these competitions.
“The right people have clicked at the right times,” Harleen Deol continued.
Harleen’s only WPL 2025 half-century came against the Delhi Capitals Women. In Lucknow, her undefeated strike of 70 runs off 49 balls propelled Gujarat to victory by five wickets with three deliveries remaining. Gujarat has advanced to the knockout stage for the first time in three seasons. Harleen’s ability to pace her team’s innings would be crucial.
Regarding her international assignment, Harleen is anticipated to play for India Women in June and July. Throughout the aforementioned months, the Women in Blue will play England Women in three ODIs and five T20Is.
