The Gujarat Titans (GT) ended their four-game winning streak in Lucknow as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) extended their winning run. Since LSG won the match by six wickets, it was a very lopsided win. As is their speciality, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran pursued. After they won for the fourth time this season, Rishabh Pant appeared to be very happy.
The toss was won by Pant, who chose to field first. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan quickly destroyed the LSG bowlers throughout the park after taking the pitch. The two produced a 120-run opening partnership. Gill was removed in the thirteenth over, though, and Sudharsan was removed shortly after. After being dismissed, GT’s batting lineup fell apart, and the hitters were only able to score another 60 runs in the following eight overs.
Leading batsman Rishabh Pant moved up in the batting order and joined Aiden Markram as LSG batted in the second innings. He was removed by Prasidh Krishna on 21 runs as his dismal form failed to improve with his new batting position. Pant did strike four boundaries, though, rather than receiving a single-digit score.
After he was dismissed, Nicholas Pooran, who has been playing brilliantly, came to the crease (61 off 34). The batter led LSG to their fourth tournament victory and provided Markram with excellent support (58 off 31).
