At the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, April 19, Abishek Porel hit Mohammed Siraj’s bowling for a six over the deep square leg fence, marking the third legal delivery of the Gujarat Titans vs. Delhi Capitals match. Porel hit the game’s first boundary, and the maximum came only one ball later.
The pickup shot from the left-handed batter flew beyond the fence. It was drifting on the pads, thus the delivery was not the finest. But it still needed to be sent out.
Porel exerted early pressure on Siraj by taking full advantage of the waywardness.
Wasting no time! 🙌🏻
It only took #AbishekPorel 3 legal deliveries to find the first maximum of the match! 💪🏻🌟

Porel hit the ground running in spectacular fashion, and DC got off to a good start with 16 runs in the first over. Porel was unable to capitalise on his explosive start, though. Arshad Khan hit a delectable full-toss on the fourth delivery of the second over, which was straught to mid-on. Porel made nine deliveries and walked back for eighteen. It’s interesting to see that Siraj made the catch.
GT won the toss earlier in the afternoon and chose to field first. The hosts’ starting lineup remained the same, but DC made one substitution: Jake Fraser-McGurk replaced Mukesh Kumar. Prior to this match, DC had just defeated the Rajasthan Royals in a thrilling Super Over match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 16.
