In the IPL 2025, Malolan Rangarajan, the spin bowling coach for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), discussed the advantages of having Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya play together. The team from Bengaluru defeated the Rajasthan Royals on April 24 to earn their maiden victory at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, securing their place in the Points Table.
Pandya took two wickets against the Royals, while Suyash went wicketless. Nevertheless, the match was won by RCB by 11 runs. They have just two games left to secure a spot in the ongoing edition’s playoffs. This time, the team appears prepared to compete fiercely with the other teams.
Regarding Suyash’s bowling and his ability to snare hitters in crucial situations, Rangarajan provided clarification. The bowler offered the side much-needed breakthroughs at key points in the game by dismissing Josh Inglis (against PBKS) and Andre Russell (against KKR), as he demonstrated.
Suyash, in my opinion, has a significant advantage. We believe that one of his super-strengths is his ability to beat the bat on both edges, in addition to his speed. He demonstrated that by dismissing Josh Inglis, who was not at bat. Russell’s ejection came via the batter. He does turn the ball, then. His ability to flip the ball, beat the bat on both edges, and bowl at a very high speed is what he considers his super strength. In addition, his action is odd in its own right. Therefore, that makes it a little difficult for the batter to read,” RCB’s spin-bowling coach Malolan Rangarajan stated during a news conference prior to the game.
Krunal Pandya’s alteration in bowling motion
Pandya and his improved bowling action were also discussed by Rangarajan. Pandya has been in outstanding form this season, particularly with the ball, as evidenced by his 12 wickets in nine games. The IPL has seen good use of the bowler by captain Rajat Patidar.
“As far as Krunal Pandya is concerned, his actions in his movies from 2016 or 2017–18 were quite different. He has improved his behaviour. “His release is significantly different from what it was, possibly even two years ago,” Rangarajan continued.
The spin combination will be primed to show off their skills when RCB plays the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, April 27. The team is now undefeated on the road and will try to continue the winning streak on Sunday.
