Trent Boult of the Mumbai Indians asserted that a team score of more than 300 runs in the 2025 IPL was extremely likely. In the 18th edition of the league, the left-arm pacer wanted to get some early swing in some parts of India, even though he was aware that the bowlers had been at a disadvantage in recent seasons.
When SRH defeated RR early in the 2025 Indian Premier League, they scored 286—the second-highest total in the league’s history. Since then, the current season hasn’t had such a large score.
“There is no question that this competition will see a score of 300 or higher. Although it appears to be moving farther, Boult asserted, “I’d like to think it’s still swinging in some parts of the country.”
Speaking from the viewpoint of the bowlers, the left-arm pacer believed that the batters’ hard hitting gave them some possibilities. The Kiwi pacer believed that the bowlers needed to be aggressive, accurate, and focussed. He believed that the audience would adore seeing the bowlers in a heated form.
“The only thing that bowlers can take away from this is that batsmen are coming hard, which opens up opportunities. Bowlers are going to have their day eventually if we concentrate on accuracy, remain aggressive, and give it our best shot. Fans want to witness that, and I’m sure a lot of people will be watching,” the MI pacer continued in his remark.
I push myself to think of fresh ideas and plans all the time: Trent Boult
The renowned pacer stated that it is really difficult to bowl towards the end of the game when questioned about the shift in dynamics in death bowling. “I always worked on it,” he stated, adding that he intended to improve and never settle for less. By challenging himself to be the best version of himself, the 2020 IPL champion stated that he wanted to explore new possibilities.
It’s difficult, but I’ve always worked on it. My motto has been to constantly improve and never stop improving my abilities or output. Boult continued, “I’m always challenging myself to think of fresh ideas and plans.
The MI bowler talked about how the game has changed and how death bowling has been impacted. According to him, it could be difficult to play against well-known opponents, which could push the bowlers to perform at their peak. Boult said that what made the difference was having the clarity and ability to perform under pressure. In closing, the star pacer stated that the bowlers needed to be ready to seal significant moments before MI’s match against LSG.
There are a lot of hitters these days, some of whom we have never heard of or faced, so you need to be at the top of your game. Being clear and performing well under pressure are crucial. It all comes down to being prepared for those situations and doing good training,” Boult said.
The forthcoming encounter between MI and LSG is scheduled for April 27 at Wankhede Stadium.
