Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was eliminated from the tournament after the 55th IPL 2025 match between SRH and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad was called off due to rain.
With the ball, SRH played with discipline after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. Leading from the front, captain Pat Cummins took three wickets for just 19 runs in his four overs. Jaydev Unadkat (1/13) and Harshal Patel (1/36) provided strong support, while teenager Eshan Malinga also took Ashutosh Sharma’s crucial wicket.
Delhi finished their 20 overs at 133/7 after struggling to gain traction. KL Rahul scored ten goals, and Axar Patel, the captain, added six. Ashutosh Sharma added a swift 41 to share the lead, while Tristan Stubbs top-scored with an undefeated 41 off 36 balls.
A modest aim was to be pursued by SRH, but play was cut short by the rain. Both teams split the point since there was no way to win. SRH was eliminated from the IPL 2025 due to the washout, which also terminated their chances of making the playoffs.
