The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur will host Match No. 59 of the 2025 Indian Premier League between the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings will go to the final four with a victory, but RR will not be able to make the playoffs.
The Royals’ season has been a complete bust; with just three victories in 12 games, they are currently in ninth position on the points table. The final game they played, in Kolkata, versus KKR, concluded in a thrilling contest. For the first three quarters of their innings, KKR was cruising along, then Andre Russell provided the ideal push to support their total.
In the opening two overs of the innings, RR began to lose wickets in alarming fashion. However, Varun Chakravarthy struck in the middle overs, putting RR five down in the seventh over. The program belonged to Riyan Parag, and Shimron Hetmyer was content to play a supporting role. Parag struck six sixes off six consecutive balls he faced, albeit over two overs, as he hammered the KKR bowlers all over the park in a spectacular 95-run performance.
KKR finally recovered after Parag’s ejection, which changed the course of the match. In the end, Vaibhav Arora had to defend 19 runs off the final four balls. Shubham Dubey scored six, four, six, but Arora gave KKR a one-run victory by successfully defending three runs off the final ball.
For all those involved, the most recent game for the Punjab Kings was undoubtedly a terrifying event. Before T Natarajan broke the silence, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya scored fifty runs and 122 in 10 overs against the Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala. A floodlight malfunctioned at the end of the wicket, and the game was cancelled. The news that IPL 2025 would be suspended surfaced less than twenty-four hours later.
The Dharamsala match between PBKS and DC was declared void following the tournament’s postponement, with neither runs nor wickets counted towards the players’ records. In the last match, which took place in Dharamsala, PBKS had defeated LSG handily.
