On Wednesday, May 21, in the pivotal Mumbai Indians (MI) vs. Delhi Capitals (DC) match at the legendary Wankhede Stadium, Kuldeep Yadav destroyed an in-form Ryan Rickelton.
In the seventh over the offence was bolstered by the addition of a left-arm wrist spinner. On the third ball that Kuldeep bowled, Suryakumar Yadav’s sweep took a top-edge that went to Mukesh Kumar’s left at short fine-leg, creating a chance. Although Mukesh scrambled and made a full-stretch dive, he was unable to reach the ball. Kuldeep nearly gave his team a major breakthrough, so he would have felt mistreated. He did not have to wait long, though, to rejoice as a wicket fell.
The ball struck the bottom side of the bat when Rickelton tried a slog sweep off the next delivery. as facing eighteen balls, the South African wicketkeeper-batter was removed for twenty-five as debutant Madhav Tiwari rushed quickly to his right from deep square leg and held onto an outstanding catch.
Kuldeep Yadav took his 100th wicket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with this one.
He became the eleventh spinner and 29th bowler to reach the 100-wicket mark. In his 97th game, the spinner from Uttar Pradesh achieved the milestone. Amit Mishra and Varun Chakaravarthy are the two fastest spinners in the league, each with 100 wickets in 83 games. In 84 games, Yuzvendra Chahal, the most prolific wicket-taker in IPL history, accomplished the accomplishment.

Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav begin MI’s resurgence
When Rickelton was dismissed, MI had 58 runs on the board, having lost three wickets in 6.4 overs. Rohit Sharma and Will Jacks were dismissed earlier in the innings, for five and 21, respectively. Since then, Suryakumar and Tilak Varma batted watchfully, trying to set up a platform for a strong finish. With the likes of Hardik Pandya, Naman Dhir, and Mitchell Santner to follow, MI will look to finish strongly.
