The top MI hitter and India’s current T20I captain broke Temba Bavuma’s record for the most straight 25-plus scores in the game’s shortest format. The match saw him remain unbeaten on 57 off 23 balls, his 14th consecutive 25-plus score, breaking Bavuma’s previous record of thirteen.
Suryakumar Yadav equalled Bavuma’s record in MI’s last game against Delhi Capitals, scoring 73* off 43 balls to win the match. Meanwhile, today’s innings pushes him over Shubman Gill (13 in 2023) and Kane Williamson (13 in 2018) for the most 25-plus runs in a single IPL season (14).
