Rashid Khan has bowled against some of the best batsmen in international cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 26-year-old has played six Tests, 114 ODIs, and 96 T20Is for the Blue Tigers, taking 45, 199, and 161 wickets, respectively.
Rashid is now in India, competing in the 18th season of the IPL. He recently attended a function in Mohali and was asked to pick his favourite cricketers. The Nangarhar native chose Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah as his favourite batsman, all-rounder, and bowler, respectively.
“Hardik Pandya. He is my favorite all-rounder. Batter Virat bhai and bowler Jasprit Bumrah,” the legendary Afghanistan leg-spinner said in a video posted on ‘X’.

Rashid Khan has had another poor IPL season.
Rashid took 27 wickets in 17 matches during the IPL 2023, his most in a single season. Last year, he only took 10 wickets from 12 games, with an average of 36.70. Experts and fans agreed that it was a one-time terrible performance for the cash-rich league’s backbone. The Gujarat Titans (GT) management also expressed trust in the leg-spinner, retaining him for a hefty INR 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
Rashid’s poor performance has continued in IPL 2025. He has taken only nine wickets in 14 games. His average has been dismal, at 53.67. Rashid conceded that he runs at a 9.47 economy rate. These terrible figures are tough to associate with him.
However, the veteran gets a chance to redeem himself in the playoffs as Gujarat finished third in the regular phase. They’ll meet the Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator. Rashid thrives on the big stage and will be critical to GT’s second IPL title.
