The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) advanced to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Final with a dominant win over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 in New Chandigarh. RCB captain Rajat Patidar praised the pacers for utilising the surface and Suyash Sharma for his outstanding bowling effort.
The winning captain stated that he will instruct Suyash to keep his tactics simple, focussing on attacking the stumps.
Rajat Patidar remarked that he does not mind giving up a few runs to the leg-spinner.
“I believe we were clear in our plans regarding how we needed to bowl. I thought the fast bowlers made excellent use of the surface. Suyash’s contribution, as well as his line and length bowling, were excellent. As captain, I have no doubts about his bowling ability. He has to target the stumps since it is his strength. The batters have a difficult time reading his wrong’un. I constantly try to give him clear concepts and avoid confusing him. I’m fine if he concedes a few runs (in the process). “We’ve had a lot of practice sessions throughout the tournament, so one day off won’t hurt you,” Patidar stated during the post-match presentation.

The Indore native also admitted that he is a great fan of Phil Salt’s powerful starts at the top of the order. He extended emotional gratitude to RCB fans not only at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (the team’s home field), but all around the country who support them wherever they play.
“The way he (Salt) has batted in the majority of the contests. I really like the way he gives starters. It’s a pleasure to see him from the dugout. That is very good. I always appreciate RCB fans, not just in Chinnaswamy, but everywhere we travel, we feel like we’re at home. We adore you, so please keep supporting us. “One more game and we’ll celebrate together,” he said.
