The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are one step away from winning the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy. DK Shivakumar, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, has encouraged the franchise to win the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Shivakumar stated that the Bengaluru-based franchise has sparked excitement throughout the state following their advancement into the cash-rich competition finals. RCB is making a return to the IPL final after nine years of tight encounters and heartbreaks. He admitted that the government and fans are entirely behind the team in their quest for their first title.
“I am pleased. RCB will win in Ahmedabad. “They have reached the finals after a long time,” Shivakumar told India Today.
The experienced lawmaker also stated that a large number of supporters will be present at the massive venue in Motera to cheer the players led by Rajat Patidar, expecting to witness a historic victory for the club, which has been near three times but never won.
“The Karnataka administration and people are looking forward to triumph. Many people from Karnataka will be in Ahmedabad to attend the match. Let us hope and pray that they win and come back,” he said.
Rajat Patidar & Co. secured their place in the IPL 2025 final with a convincing victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1. Patidar’s bowlers decimated the opposition, bowling them out for 101 runs. In the chase, Phil Salt led the effort to get the team across the line and win the match with 60 balls remaining.
However, PBKS rebounded strongly in Qualifier 2 against the five-time winners Mumbai Indians. Notably, MI set an imposing total of 203 in the first innings, but PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer remained composed and chased down the mark, scoring an undefeated 87 runs.
Now, RCB and PBKS are vying for the championship, and the IPL 2025 will see a new franchise crowned for the first time after 18 years in the cash-rich competition.
