The most passionately supported team in the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), will face Punjab Kings on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While the players prepare for the summit showdown, the fans are doing their part off the pitch to show their support and executing rituals in the hopes of hoisting the trophy.
Ahead of the game, a die-hard RCB fan in Bengaluru was photographed with his car completely wrapped in Nimbu-Mirchi (lemon and green chillies), a traditional Indian custom to avoid bad luck.
The vehicle also had posters reading ‘Anti-Nazar Squad’.

Prior to this, the franchise had lost three consecutive finals. Despite having renowned players such as Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle, they have not won a title since the league’s inception. However, fans predict that 2025 will be a unique year. Following the Qualifier 1 victory over Punjab Kings, a die-hard Belagavi fan wrote a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, demanding him to declare June 4 a public holiday if RCB wins the trophy.
Despite years of grief and close calls, followers have showed their support during difficult times. Meanwhile, RCB superstars Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers will be in the stands for the final. Meanwhile, this encounter will be a rerun of Qualifier 1, which the Bengaluru-based franchise comfortably won by eight wickets.
Despite following a lengthier route, PBKS defeated the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 and advanced to the finals after an 11-year absence. Both clubs, who have been in the league since 2008, have the strongest chance of winning their first IPL title and ultimately ending their trophy drought. Notably, the final will include trophyless teams for the fourth time in IPL history, dating back to 2009.
