Rinku Singh, an Indian cricketer, engaged Member of Parliament Priya Saroj in a private ceremony on June 8 at The Centrum Hotel in Lucknow.
Close family members, acquaintances, and prominent political and cricket figures attended the occasion.
Before the ceremony, the left-handed batter and his family went to the Chaudhera Wali Vichitra Devi Temple in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, to seek blessings. The engagement was celebrated at Fulcurn Hall, which has a seating capacity of 300 and hosted a number of distinguished guests.
The event was attended by various former cricketers, including Praveen Kumar and Piyush Chawla, as well as Uttar Pradesh Ranji team captain Aryan Juyal. Political guests included Samajwadi Party chairman Akhilesh Yadav and MPs Jaya Bachchan, Dimple Yadav, and Iqra Hasan. Professor Ram Gopal Yadav, a top Samajwadi Party leader, and Congress politician Rajeev Shukla also attended.
The engagement feast included a specially created vegetarian food inspired by Lucknowi cuisine, which combined regional and global ingredients. The couple chose the menu. Guest accommodations were organised at The Centrum, with 15 rooms reserved just for the event. The security was stringent, with access limited to invitees with barcoded admission permits.

In terms of career, Rinku performed averagely in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), scoring 206 runs at a mediocre of 29.42 and a strike rate of 153.73. This season, the 2024 champions ended seventh in the points table, with only five wins in 14 matches.
Internationally, the 27-year-old has played 30 T20 Internationals, amassing 507 runs in 22 innings with an average of 46.09 and a strike rate of 165.14, including three half-centuries. He made his T20I debut for India against Ireland in 2023. Rinku has also played two ODIs and has an impressive List A record, amassing 1,899 runs from 52 innings at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 94.8.
