Pat Cummins, the Australian captain, had an outstanding day on Day 2 at Grenada’s National Cricket Stadium, dismissing Keacy Carty with a fantastic one-handed diving catch. West Indies started their innings in the morning, trailing by 286 runs.
Cummins came in to bowl the ninth over of the morning, delivering a good-length ball that nibbled back into Carty. The right-hander pushed his bat forward away from his pad, producing a thick inside edge that bounced up to the right side of the wicket.
The New South Wales player promptly shifted direction, sprinting to the short square mid-wicket zone and diving full length to his right. He made the grab inches above the ground with one hand, removing Carty for six and completing a remarkable catch in the match.

Earlier, the Aussies’ first innings was anchored by Alex Carey (63) and Beau Webster (60), with West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph impressing with a four-wicket haul. When the hosts began their innings, they lost early wickets, where Kraigg Brathwaite was dismissed for a duck in the second over by Josh Hazlewood.
Despite early losses, John Campbell steadied the innings with a controlled 40, and Brandon King scored his first Test fifty, 75. In the lower order, Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph formed a key 51-run partnership for the eighth wicket, greatly decreasing the gap. West Indies were eventually dismissed for 253, surrendering a slim 33-run advantage to the opposition. Nathan Lyon got three wickets, with Cummins and Hazlewood taking two each.
However, the hosts responded forcefully in the last session. Jayden Seales used the new ball to eliminate both Australian openers, teenager Sam Konstas (0) and Usman Khawaja (2). Konstas pulled one onto his stumps, while Khawaja was stranded LBW and unsuccessfully reviewed the judgement.
At the end of Day 2’s play, Australia were 12 for 2 in their second innings, leading by 45 runs, with Cameron Green unbeaten on 6 and nightwatchman Lyon on 2.
