The Bangladesh Cricket Boards (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have amicably agreed to move the white-ball series between Bangladesh and India from August 2025 to September 2026.
This decision was reached after conversations between the two Boards, which took into account both teams’ international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience.
The Bangladesh Cricket Boards is looking forward to welcome India in September 2026 for this highly anticipated series.
The tour’s revised dates and fixtures will be revealed shortly. And the remaining updates on the white-ball bilateral series prior of the critical Asia Cup have still to be confirmed by either of the governing organisations.
Clouds gather over the Asia Cup 2025.
Speaking about the approaching Asia Cup, there were strong indications that the multi-team continental event would not take place without the participation of the Indian squad, given their national government’s escalating political tensions with Pakistan. However, various media reports have revealed that, while the tournament may go on as scheduled, India and Pakistan may refuse to play each other due to geopolitical concerns expressed by their respective governments.
India, the tournament’s defending champions from 2023, will return as favourites. Notably, the future season of the premier tournament will be played in the 20-over format, in preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2026, which India and Sri Lanka will host. Both India and Pakistan have remained silent on the topic, determined to follow their respective governments’ directions.
India will compete in their first major event, the Asia Cup, following their great campaign at the T20 World Cup 2024, where Rohit Sharma and his team defeated South Africa in the final. With Rohit’s retirement, Suryakumar Yadav is anticipated to lead the Men in Blue in the forthcoming competition, which will be played in the shortest format.
