Ravi, a keen cricket fan and visually impaired boy, has been following the Indian squad since the Leeds Test against England, hoping to meet Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. That desire came true on Saturday, the fourth day of the ongoing second Test between England and India.
In a heartfelt gesture, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave Ravi an autographed bat.
The left-hander was moved by Ravi’s unwavering love of the game and adoration for him, so he presented the bat with a unique message: ‘With best wishes to Ravi, with care and love’.
Despite his visual disability, Ravi surprised Jaiswal with his extensive knowledge of cricket and the Indian squad, making the occasion even more memorable.
“Hi, Ravi. How are you? My name is Yashasvi, and it’s a pleasure to meet you. I was very pleased to meet you because I knew you were a great cricket fan, and I’m not sure why I’m frightened to see you,” Jaiswal said Ravi in a video uploaded by the BCCI on their official social media account.
“I have a gift for you…my bat. I would like you to keep it just as my memory. It’s amazing to see you and meet you, very lovely to be here with you,” he added.

Ravi praised the cricketer and expressed his admiration for Jaiswal’s performances. He said he loves watching him bat and finds him brilliant, especially when he is in good form.
“Lovely to meet you, too. Thanks so much! I can’t wait to have your bat because you are a brilliant cricketer… I think you are the future of Indian cricket. I love cricket, I love watching you bat. I loved your centuries, they were brilliant. On your day, you can score big centuries,” the kid further said.
