The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings have shifted dramatically following a series of critical results, with India making a strong comeback and Australia strengthening their lead.
After a shaky start in the first Test at Headingley, India recovered in style in the second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, beating England by 336 runs at Edgbaston. This victory marked India’s first win at Edgbaston over the hosts in nine attempts, and it propelled them to third place in the WTC standings.
Captain Shubman Gill led from the front, amassing a match-high 430 runs in both innings, while Akash Deep took ten wickets. England, which began the match ahead of India, fell to fourth place after the setback.
In another critical World Cup clash, Australia defeated the West Indies by 133 runs in the second Test at St George’s, gaining a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The game was a low-scoring thriller in which bowlers from both teams dominated throughout all four innings. With two wins in two matches, Australia is presently comfortably at the top.
