Star Indian batter Virat Kohli and his actress wife Anushka Sharma made a rare appearance at Wimbledon 2025 in London, watching the Men’s Round of 16 match between Novak Djokovic and Australia’s Alex de Minaur. The celebrity couple, who presently live in London with their daughters Vamika and Akaay, were spotted enjoying the tennis event.
Djokovic lost the opening set 1-6 but recovered to win the next three, 6-4, 6-4. De Minaur, who led 4-2 in the fourth set, was expected to force a decider, but Djokovic pulled through.
The Serbian is currently aiming for his eighth Wimbledon crown and a record 25th Grand Slam. Kohli, thrilled by Djokovic’s performance, turned to Instagram to express his respect for the player and congratulate him on his triumph. “What a match. “The gladiator went about his business as usual. @djokernole,” Kohli wrote.
Virat Kohli, Anushka return to iconic Wimbledon Centre Court
Notably, this isn’t the first time Kohli and Anushka have visited the iconic Wimbledon Centre Court. Back in 2015, the couple were seen alongside Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar, watching the men’s semi-finals, where legends like Roger Federer and Djokovic were in action. It was a memorable occasion that also saw football greats Thierry Henry and Sir Alex Ferguson in the stands.
The right-handed batter also congratulated the Indian cricket team after their win in the Edgbaston Test against the England team. With this victory, the visitors leveled the series 1-1 and will next lock horns at the iconic Lord’s. Kohli, in his Instagram story, appreciated Shubman Gill‘s batting heroics along with Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep’s bowling efforts, which played a huge role in the win.
“Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubhman with the bat and in the field, and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch,” he wrote.
