The International Cricket Council has released the warm-up match schedule for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which will include eight contending nations preparing for the round-robin competition at four sites in Bengaluru and Colombo.
From September 25 to 28, nine day-night matches will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence 1 pitch (all in Bengaluru), the R. Premadasa Stadium, and the Colombo Cricket Club (both in Colombo).
The opening day of the warm-ups will feature hosts India and England, the 2017 edition’s finalists, playing at the BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 ground, while South Africa and New Zealand will play at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
On the same day, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will face off at the Colombo Cricket Club, while Bangladesh will face a Sri Lanka ‘A’ team at the R. Premadasa stadium.
Defending champions Australia, the only team not to play on the first day of warm-ups, will face arch-rivals England on September 27 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 ground, followed by two further matches. The final set of warm-ups will be played on September 28.
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, which returns to the subcontinent after a 12-year absence, will take place at five sites between September 30 and November 2.
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and R. Premdasa Stadium will serve as warm-up venues for the main tournament, which will also be held in the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, the Holkar Stadium in Indore, and the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
