India cricketer Mohammed Siraj has delivered a significant update on star bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s involvement in the forthcoming fourth Test against England, which will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester. The game will begin on July 23 and will last five days, and Siraj has announced that his bowling partner and pace attack leader will play in the crucial match against The Three Lions.
“Jassi bhai toh khelenge, jitna mujhe pata hain (As far as I know, Jasprit Bumrah will play the fourth Test),” Siraj said at the pre-match press conference on Monday.
Siraj went on to say that the fundamental strategy for India’s pace battery will be to bowl in favourable locations and aim to limit English batters’ ability to score freely.
The Hyderabad-born player also stated that he expected the Ben Stokes-led side to play more calmly in Manchester, as opposed to their customary Bazball approach.
Anshul Kamboj is seen bowling full power.
Apart from Bumrah and Siraj, Anshul Kamboj might be a vital addition to the playing lineup. The Haryana pacer has yet to make his international cricket debut. He was recently added to India’s 18-man roster after Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained an injury. The all-rounder will now return home, as Kamboj might emerge as a surprise package for the remainder of the series.
Only one day into the setup, the CSK pacer was seen bowling his heart out at the nets. According to reports, he might be chosen as the third pacer in the line-up, or fourth if Akash Deep makes the cut.
India’s updated squad includes Shubman Gill (captain), Rishabh Pant (vice-captain and wicketkeeper), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh*, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Kuldeep Yadav, and Anshul Kamboj.
