India has now lost 14 consecutive tosses in men’s international cricket, the most recent coming during the fourth Test of the present five-match series against England’s. Ben Stokes has won all four tosses against Shubman Gill thus far.
This is exceedingly unlikely to happen, with a probability of one in 16,384.
The last time the Indians won the toss in men’s international cricket was in a 20-over match against England’s in January of this year. Since then, they have not won a single toss.

India open well in must-win Manchester contest
As far as the current series is concerned, India trail by a 2-1 margin. Their sole triumph came at Edgbaston on the back of historic batting performances from Shubman Gill (269 and 161), complemented by a 10-wicket haul from Akash Deep (4/88 and 6/99).
They have started their innings in Manchester on a positive note. The opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul have navigated the new ball with relative ease under overcast conditions. At the time of writing, the visitors are 78/0 after 26 overs, with Jaiswal and Rahul unbeaten on 36 and 40, respectively.
